Northern Ireland Human Rights Festival
April 13, 2016
Each year the 10th December is celebrated as Human Rights Day across the world. The date marks the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption and proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948.
Since 2012 a diverse range of organisations have marked this date by holding the Northern Ireland Human Rights Festival under the strapline ‘Celebrating and Protecting Human Rights’.
The festival, which runs for a week in December each year is a very positive and public celebration of human rights.
The 2016 festival will run from the Sunday 4th to Saturday 10th December.
We hope the festival will continue to attract new event hosts, audience members and provide a platform to allow more and more individuals from across all communities to actively consider and participate in a range of human rights issues and discussions from home and abroad.
